I uploaded images from number of photo shoots I have done in last two years.

Yet another quick and minimalistic strobist shot.  I had off-camera flash in my left hand with white A4 sized paper folded to make a simple light softener. The flash was just outside the frame  so relatively speaking it was a big light source…

This is how I get some co-operation with my cats. It’s some sort of meaty stick and as long as there is even the smell in the air the cats will stay around.

Another lucky shot of Sopuli. I don’t like the way she appears to be floating in mid air, but with cats I am satisfied when I have the whole animal in frame and eyes are in focus.

There are many ways to interpret this image: Outsiders can be as valuable as insiders, inside groups there can be outsiders, … Of course, I didn’t think about any of these things when I made the image . The image was done quickly without greater planning, but I like the result.

One of our cats, Juuso. This was interesting image to make. I had black velvet on floor. The plan was to get one of the cats to pose nicely on it. The only problem was that the cats were not co-operating… I had been shooting about one hour already with no keeper shots. I think [...]

In some cases it’s obvious which produces more easily good looking images, 3D or photography. Take for instance portraits or food shots. There really is no contest at the moment: photography rules. Then there are all sorts images that would be harder to create using real world photography: It’s certainly possible to make a cut-away [...]

Mobile phone as light source I wanted to do a “real” self portrait because I anyway do many (photographic!) experiment with myself, but those images will (hopefully? definitely?) never be seen by anyone else. Since I like playing with light I thought I might as well show that in my self portrait. My Nokia 1100 [...]
