Scanning money, not that easy!

Why would you want to scan money, say 100 euro bills? I don’t know about you, but I need textures for my 3D images… It turns out that Photoshop politely refuses to open scanned images of banknotes! Fortunately there are easy ways around this and in the end I think it’s ok system. At least it makes it less likely that some teen ends up in jail for just being stupid (and that’s really something they can’t help, just the way they are…).

I tested our new office copier/printer and it spitted out image with white stripes all over! I can imagine all the calls to help center :-) . Hmm.. maybe I could create an image that had nothing obvious to do with money, but would trick the printer for thinking it’s “illegal” image. That would make a nice case for support folks to spend time with :-P .

How to do it?

We are still talking about scanning money, right? (that was “teen test, part 1″) Well, there are many ways, but telling them in a post where I state that I think the system is working okay would be illogical, and I hate that. If you really need this in your work (graphics design maybe?) I am sure you will find a way… hint: think Einstein. (that was “teen test, part 2″)

(I am terribly sorry if you failed both teen tests and you really aren’t teenager. The test may give false positives in certain situations…)
