Outsider

Outsider

There are many ways to interpret this image: Outsiders can be as valuable as insiders, inside groups there can be outsiders, … Of course, I didn’t think about any of these things when I made the image . The image was done quickly without greater planning, but I like the result.

Black on black

Black on black

One of our cats, Juuso. This was interesting image to make. I had black velvet on floor. The plan was to get one of the cats to pose nicely on it. The only problem was that the cats were not co-operating… I had been shooting about one hour already with no keeper shots. I think [...]

Knife and fork

Knife and fork

Just a quick shot of knife and fork with my minimalistic strobist setup. I need to do these quick images to stay sane… photographers will understand.

Comparing photography and 3D rendering

Sometimes less is more

Making of OUCH!

ouch_small

If you have ever hit yourself with a hammer you know the feeling. I wanted to capture that feeling of hot pain in a photo. I got the idea watching our 1 year old daughter playing with a small flashlight. She was trying to eat the light and her whole mouth was lit from inside [...]

Old Shoes

shoes_large

This image was taken with Sinar Norma 5×4 inch view camera. Background was changed in Photoshop. I am sure an educated eye can spot where the blur isn’t consistent between the shoes and the background, but I’ll live with that.

No fill reflectors, as much of the red color on chili peppers was generated by translucency (using white fill would have resulted in less saturation). The first banner image The banner image is taken from [...]
